I want to know how much it is going to cost to move my motorcycle from my house upstate New York to my condo in Florida for the winter. I need a firm price. I cannot stand the wait to figure it out anymore. How do I figure this out without having to be bothered with a hundred calls to a hundred brokers. Not to mention the call backs I get constantly endure.
Well, I am going to give you a little advice on how to figure this out. First, look at the general route you would drive. A major interstate is how far from your pickup point? Then look at the total mileage from point “A” to point “B”. While you are looking make sure there are no toll roads. If there are, add a few more dollars. Now, add about $.40 cents per mile depending upon fuel prices. If fuel is currently at $2.75 a gallon, this forty-cents per mile from North to South will be about correct. If it is from West to East, it could be cheaper because, there is not that many toll roads.
I try to give the general pricing area for most motorcycle shipping companies at $400 dollars. Yes, there are more expensive rates and less expensive rates for shipping your bike. Though, it could be with a less experienced carrier or it could be with a carrier that is not going to be as timely as you need.
I suggest that you check the motorcycle shipping companies reviews and look at the pictures on their web site. If they have a lot of bikes then your going to be with a good carrier. The cost sometimes is a little higher for experience but, do you want to sleep tonight with no worries that your baby is safely moving and the cost was still within reason?
I explain to clients that you should not complain about price if you are getting the BEST service possible with the MOST reliable carrier. It is something that other people fail to remember when they are looking for a motorcycle shipping company. They allow the lower price by five dollars to decide for them and that is not a good idea. I hope that you learn a thing a or three from me here.
